Of Northern Rhone decent, this Mediterranean varietal also thrives in the warm, sunny climate of the Texas High Plains and is harvested under the cool, starry night skies at our Diamante Doble Vineyards. The higher elevation of Lost Draw Vineyard in the Texas High Plains enhances our Vermentino, a historically northwestern Italian wine grape varietal. Hot sunny days and cool summer nights enrich bright tropical fruit with orange blossom, pineapple and violets. Mineral and lime round out its salty bold fruit structure giving it a refreshing new beginning and long pleasant finish.
It is said that Sangiovese grapes were originally cultivated and made into wine for the Romans. Ours is made for moderns who embrace the fine traditions of those ancients. The footprint of this dry red wine displays rustic angular tannins greeted by balanced flavors of Fall herbs, licorice, black cherry, juicy plum, caramel, rhubarb and fennel with light earthen characteristics in wet slate and mineral. Enjoy this bold, spicy red wine where Old World Tuscany meets New World Texas.
Texas heritage is rich with Mexican history and influence. Both cultures complement one another to create something unique.
